We had a chat with Wondimagegn Hailu Bunaro playing for Hawassa City Football Club as a midfielder in the Ethiopian Premier League. Here is what he had to say

1. What inspired you to become a professional football player?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, the way they played and their impact on football, legendary.

2. What has been your most memorable moment playing in the Ethiopia Premier League?

Dira Diwa City vs Hawassa city 2014 can't forget about the game so intense loved every moment of the 90mins 

3. What do you think sets the Ethiopia Premier League apart from other leagues in Africa?

I do not see myself playing in any other league in Africa. The Ethiopian league is really the best for me in Africa. 

4. How has your experience been playing for your current team?

Great experience, now am playing for Hawassa City Football Club and am in the first team since we got promoted to top tier in the Ethiopian league 2013 year

5. Who is the toughest opponent you have faced in the Ethiopia Premier League?

Fasil Kenama Football Club is toughest opponent I have faced, they play amazing.

6. How do you stay motivated to perform at a high level throughout the season?

Training, training, training that's just how I stay high level no other way.

7. What do you think can be done to improve the overall quality of the Ethiopia Premier League?

Many stadium standard need improvement and the youth footballer growth also needs to be looked at we need young players who will play like Cristiano Ronaldo with the discipline, mentality and hard work.

8. What are your goals?

Best football player of the year in Ethiopia and play in any another league that's is outside Africa.

9. What advice would you give to young aspiring football players in Ethiopia?

Self confidence, hard work and keep training that's how you become your best.
