Wydad AC

Wydad Athletic Club, commonly known as Wydad AC, is one of the most successful football clubs in Morocco. Founded in 1937, the club has been a dominant force in Moroccan football for over 80 years, winning numerous domestic and international titles.


Success in Domestic Competitions:


Wydad has won the Moroccan Botola Pro league 22 times, which is more than any other team in the league's history. Their dominance in the league began in the 1950s and 1960s when they won six titles in a row. They went on to win several more titles in the following decades, including five consecutive titles from 2006 to 2010.


In addition to their league success, Wydad has won the Moroccan Throne Cup 9 times, which is the country's most prestigious cup competition. The club won their first Throne Cup in 1969 and have gone on to win it several times since then.

International Success:


Wydad is one of the most successful team in the history of the CAF Champions League, which is the most prestigious club competition in African football. The team has won the competition twice, in 1992 and 2017, and has also finished as runners-up three times. In addition to their success in the Champions League, Wydad has also won the CAF Super Cup twice.


Wydad's success on the international stage is not limited to Africa. The team has also had success in the Arab Club Championship, winning the tournament in 2011 and finishing as runners-up in 2009 and 2014.

One of the most notable is Badou Zaki, who played for the club in the 1970s and 1980s and also went on to coach the team.
